17th May riot

During the celebration of 17th May 2021 some drunk teenager threw a bottle on a police officer. The police then decided to show off all their toys and in a total over-reaction they deployed an unnecessary amount of riot cops and even the helicopter.

Exactly one year later on 17th May 2022 Direct Action Theatre made an re-enactment of the whole situation on the exact same locations.

The audio is an excerpt from a phone call with the local Fredrikstad police chief. He tells us why it is not recommended to do any public stunts in the streets in our gear.
