“Direct Action Theater's” ongoing series Serve and Protect works with riot police uniforms as the main visual and symbolic material. By placing these uniforms into absurd or uncommon situations they playfully question the status quo of the police as an institution or an entity. They work on the border of art and activism (artivism) “serving and protecting” the people, nature, pleasure, beauty, and life itself.
